Thistle House

Thistle House is an interim step down service for people recovering from mental ill health to be supported in a homely environment in an attempt to prevent hospital admission and / to ensure timely discharge.

Thistle House provides 15 self-contained flats as well as a communal area on Baron Taylor Street in Inverness.

Our residents have a range of support needs and have access to staff 24 hours a day.

When residents move into Thistle House, we empower them to make decisions about their support, including being involved in writing their support plans, choosing their Key Worker and times of 1:1 support sessions.

Our person centred approach enables residents to identify their existing strengths and skills so they can achieve their goals and aspirations; whether it is learning a new skill, maintaining independence, becoming more involved in the community, accessing benefits, healthy eating choices, gaining employment, or other meaningful activities of their choosing.

When residents are ready to move on from Thistle House to their own tenancy, we will continue to provide Community Outreach support to ensure they are able to live as independently as possible.
